Troubleshooting
The most common things that go wrong, and what to check first.
“Username or password is incorrect”
- Check that the username is your full email address, not just the part before the @.
- Test the username and password at webmail.digiserv.no. If it works there, the account is fine, and the problem is in the settings in your app.
- If it doesn't work in webmail either, you need a new password. See Forgot your password.
- Did you just get a new password? Update it on all your devices.
I can receive, but not send
It's almost always the outgoing server (SMTP). Check that requires authentication is turned on, that the username there is also your full email address, and that the port is 587 with STARTTLS. On iPhone, the username and password must be filled in under the outgoing server even though the fields say “Optional”.
I can send, but not receive
Check the incoming server: imap.digiserv.no, port 993, SSL/TLS. Also look in your spam folder.
Certificate warning during setup
If you get a warning that the certificate doesn't match the domain name while the app is looking for the settings on its own, cancel the automatic setup and choose manual setup. Use the values in Settings for your email app. Then the warning won't appear.
“Mailbox is full”
The account has 15 GB. Empty Trash and Spam, and look for old emails with large attachments. If you need more space, your administrator can expand the account to 50 GB.
Sent email bounces back
Read the error message you get back. It usually says what's wrong: a typo in the recipient's address, or the recipient's mailbox is full. If you're not sure, forward the whole error message to us.
Nothing helped
Call 38 27 80 00 or email support@digiserv.no, and have this ready: the email address in question, which app and device you're using, the exact error message, ideally as a screenshot, and whether it works in webmail.
