Mac: Apple Mail

Here's how to add your email account to Mail on a Mac.

  1. Open Mail.
  2. Choose Mail and Add Account in the menu bar. If you don't have any accounts yet, the dialog appears on its own.
  3. Choose Other Mail Account at the bottom of the list, and click Continue.
  4. Enter your name, email address and password, and click Sign In. Mail reports that it can't verify the account name or password. That's expected, and you now get the fields for manual setup.
  5. Choose account type IMAP, incoming mail server imap.digiserv.no, outgoing mail server smtp.digiserv.no, and your full email address as the username. Click Sign In.
  6. Choose which apps to use the account with. Mail is enough. Click Done.

To check the ports afterwards, go to Mail, Settings, Accounts, select the account and choose Server Settings. Uncheck Automatically manage connection settings to see and change the port and security. The correct values are in Settings for your email app.
