Android: Gmail and Outlook

Android phones don't have one shared email app. The two most common are Gmail, which comes with most phones, and Outlook, which is common in businesses. Both work well.

The Gmail app

  1. Open Gmail, tap your profile picture at the top right and choose Add another account.
  2. Choose Other at the bottom of the list.
  3. Enter your email address, tap Next, choose Personal (IMAP), enter your password and tap Next.
  4. Incoming server: your full email address as the username, server imap.digiserv.no, port 993, security SSL/TLS.
  5. Outgoing server: require sign-in turned on, your full email address as the username, server smtp.digiserv.no, port 587, security STARTTLS.
  6. Choose how often to check for email, then tap Next and Done.

The Outlook app

  1. Open Outlook and tap Add account.
  2. Enter your email address and tap Continue. If you're asked to choose a provider, choose IMAP.
  3. Turn on Advanced settings and fill in IMAP server imap.digiserv.no, port 993, SSL/TLS, and SMTP server smtp.digiserv.no, port 587, STARTTLS. Use your full email address as the username in both fields.
  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right to sign in.
