Connect to VPN

VPN is an encrypted connection between your PC and your company network. It's like sitting at the office, even when you're at home, traveling or at a café. You need it for internal systems and servers, shared network drives like F: or G:, and business systems that require the office's IP address.

You need the VPN program installed, which we set up for you, and login details from us. Many companies sign in with their Microsoft account. In that case, make sure you're signed in with the right Microsoft account in your browser, or the connection will fail.

Pritunl, the most common solution

  1. Open Pritunl from the desktop or the taskbar. The icon looks like a padlock.
  2. Click your profile. We've already set it up for you.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Enter your PIN if you're asked for it. If your company signs in with Microsoft accounts, a browser window opens and signs you in.
  5. The icon turns green when you're connected.

Disconnect with Disconnect from the Pritunl icon in the taskbar. Always disconnect when you don't need VPN, especially on public networks.

Windows' built-in VPN

  1. Click the network icon at the bottom right, and choose VPN.
  2. Choose your connection and click Connect.
  3. Enter your username and password if you're asked for them.

Common problems

  • Connected, but can't get into internal systems. Wait half a minute. Try opening the network drive yourself by typing the path in File Explorer. Restart the PC with VPN on.
  • Can't connect at all. Check that you're online. Some home routers and hotel networks block VPN, so try mobile data as a hotspot. Check that the clock and time zone on your PC are correct. Restart Pritunl.
  • Keeps connecting and disconnecting. An unstable network is the most common cause. Try a cable instead of Wi-Fi.
  • Certificate or authentication error. The profile may have expired. Give us a call, and we'll get you a new one.
